"Divorce: Iranian-Style"

our midterms were due today for women in world perspective, so we watched a video entitled (see above).
the following are the notes i copied down for your information.

-divorce for "telephone relationship" w/ uncle
she must "make herself pretty"

-3 mos. 10 days she must live w/ him if separation ensues

men are checked for weapons
women are checked for dress code & makeup

How Women are able for a divorce
-husband's inability to father a child (physical)

A man can have more than one wife w/ 1st wife's consent

you lose your child when you remarry
husband gains custody whether he remarries or not

In prayer services, women are kept behind a curtain; men get front row
-gendered segregation.
