Rantings and ravings. Just think of it as Sunday afternoon with the in-laws, or the eccentric grandmother. Good times had by all. Except me..because I always seem upset in my blog posts..hm.

::vegetating::

hm...I wonder. If I were a vegetable, which one would I be? Not only has the instances of zoning out grown exponentially, but I haven't the motivation to get out of bed before 10, 1030, even 11. I think it has something to do with the weather. If it was 80 outside I would be baking in the sunshine, taking in the third Dark Tower book (a mind trip for the financially impaired). Instead, I am moody, and argumentative. It's a bit of a rut I can't seem to escape from. Music isn't helping either. I showered to ...And Justice For All and it totally put me in this destructive mindset. or...should I say self-destructive. The thing is, there are countless things I could be doing. However, I lack the motivation to do any of them.
Any suggestions are welcome.
P.S. The blog post time is incorrect however, so is the one on my computer. It just adds to the madness if you ask me.

Blogrot...it's the new 'toxic mold'

Thank you Prince Charming you just made me laugh. No, no lost puppy ads are needed but I must apologize for letting my blog go to rot a bit. Let me see what I can do to revive it...

All previous complaints of the ridiculous boy I will not name who never reads my blog (and continues to refrain from reading my blog) are hereby null and void. Thank GOD. Now I can complain about other things. hehe

I'm sick. I have one of those coughs that makes you think you're going to cough but it just makes it so your throat is tight and you are forced to clear your throat (::ehem::) twenty billion times a day. So frustrating.
So far, the only exciting thing to happen is the job thing (Family Scoops) which has proved to be stressful but rewarding. Also, the boat is in the water...oh yea listen to how big of a loser puppy face is...
WTB (my boss; a shortened form of Who's the Boss) owns the ice cream place where I work, one in Hoboken, and a pet store that is also in Hoboken. He was showing me a flyer from the store and it had the names of really high-quality pet food, etc. He asked me if I had a pet. I said no, he died recently (actually he died last year before school started but it feels like last week). WTB asked me what I used to feed him. And I said (because it's the truth) whatever was on sale. It's true. My mom and dad did the shopping, and so whatever was a good price, and whichever food George responded to positively, was bought. He then proceeded to tell me that I killed my dog. He loves to bs with the customers but when it comes to serious things like buying dog food, he doesn't beat around the bush. So I know why he said it. It was just about the worst thing anyone's ever said to me, that's all. So I held my tongue and let him talk. But I was overtired, exhausted, and I had someone repeatedly telling me I had killed my dog. Which, even now, stings quite painfully. Naturally, I got upset. In front of WTB. It took him a minute to realize I was getting upset, and then he awkwardly said i'm sorry fifteen times and walked to the back of the store to leave me alone. What a mess I was. You always cry harder when someone else realizes that you're crying. That's just my opinion. But really, did your mom or anyone ever realize you were crying and go to comfort you and you just break down harder? Yah. That was me. Loser. I mean really. Who cries in front of their boss?
That might just top my most embarrassing moments. It was more than embarrassment though. It was shame.

Hm. What else. I felt like kid again on Mothers' Day. We (thefam) brought our lunches to Lawrence Harbor so we could look out on the water and there is a small playground there. After eating, Little Sister (awesome song) and I went on the swings and it was lots of fun. There's something about feeling weightless if even for a second, that lightens the spirit as well. Thus, we feel almost as free as we did as children. Makes sense sorta, right?

Well, if I think of anything else I'd like to share...oh I have a short story in the works. It's a little out there but the first part of it was so much fun to write.

Listen to the music that made you rock when you were a kid. It'll make spring cleaning so much more palatable.

For the best in blues/rock/reggae, check it out!
I feel sorry for Paul (the bassist and promotion enthusiast) because this is a cheap plug but TheMegan (www.meganandpeanut.blogspot.com) also is putting it out on her blog site.
Be cool! Promote local talent!

;O)

Those silly boys! They have it allll wrong. (no, not you.)

I will list a few things I have an certain specific issue with and then will proceed to explain wherein my issue with them lies.
-opening doors
-walking women to the door/walking to the door to get the woman
-buying candy and flowers (cite Shrek)
-scheduling your time around your time with women

Note: If you do not partake in any of the above activities, i'm not criticizing you. If you do partake in any of the above activities, i'm not criticizing you. Nothing is your fault. I am not telling you to partake, nor am i telling you to not partake.

Okay. 1. If you are a man, and you should know if you are or you are not, why do you open doors for a woman? 2. Why do you walk a woman to the door or walk to the door (out of your car, etc.) to get a woman? 3. Why do you feel obligated at times to purchase candy and/or flowers for certain occasions?

Answers (correct me if i'm wrong or i've been misinformed):
1. because it's the right thing to do, because it's what your dad told you to do, because then you can have a clear view of what you can't see when you're walking next to them, etc.
2. for her safety, to drag her out to someplace she is reluctant to go, to be able to watch her walk again because the way she walks is hot, because it's the right thing to do, because you want her to kiss you or you want to be invited in, etc.
3. you are a marketing victim in a capitalist society, she asked for one or both, watching her smell flowers and/or eat candy is hot, etc.

The Real Reasons (bear with me and give it some thought):
1. You should do it because of your urge to want to do everything for them.
2. You should do it because of your urge to be next to them or near them as often and for as long as possible.
3. You should do it because candy is sweet and so is she, and flowers are pretty and she likes pretty things and they reminded you of her (Shrek's reasoning for picking the sunflower).
An addendum:
4. You should try to schedule your time around the time you spend with that woman because you want to see her as often as possible; being near her brings you a wonderful joy and being in her presence makes you feel like a better person.

This all boils down to the need and want to be with the one you love/the one you are attracted to for as long as possible and as often as possible. I think men do the above things for the wrong reasons. I know for a fact that unless i'm carrying something heavy (like a boulder; see previous blog) I don't need a man to open a door for me. Sure some doors are heavy, but i'm sure I can manage. He should want to open the door because he wants to do things for me. Be self-less and all of that. Do you see what I'm saying? I'm NOT saying that all men should open doors and walk their women to their doorstep and buy candy and flowers. I AM saying that if you are such a man that participates in such activities, you should be doing it for the right reasons.

All responses are welcome. Go ahead, Sean. Pamp. Argue away. I'm expecting some disapproval.
