Rantings and ravings. Just think of it as Sunday afternoon with the in-laws, or the eccentric grandmother. Good times had by all. Except me..because I always seem upset in my blog posts..hm.

Since when is college an over-priced fee-collecting bank?

Since forever. But it recently proved worse. Know those stupid commercials where the lady bank teller says well there's a start-up fee and an access fee and a maintenance fee and etc etc?

GENERAL SERVICE FEE-FALL
STUDENT CENTER FEE-FALL
STUDENT ACTIVITY FEE - FALL
ID FEE-FALL
STUDENT SERVICE FEE-FALL
COMPUTING ACCESS FEE - FALL

Funny right? Ha. Give me someone in the billing dept on whom I can release a bit of fury. That's copy and pasted straight from my bill btw. I left things out too. I want to know who's laughing.

Find me guilty when true guilt is from within

Good day, how do
And I send a smile to Bob
Don't waste, waste your breath
And I won't waste my hate on Bob
Ain't gonna waste my hate
Ain't gonna waste my hate on Bob
I think I'll keep it for myself
Ain't gonna give no more
Ain't got the time to help Bob score (although he does quite well on his own)
I think it's time ya (Bob) pleased yoself (Bob)
Think Bob's worthy now
Think enough to even raise the brow
And to laugh and tip that two pronged crown (aka horns)
I see my hands, I see my feet
I feel that blood that pumps in beat
But where the hell's my mind goin' now?
Ain't gonna waste my hate
But I'm so greedy when they say
Better to give than to receive
Ain't gonna waste my hate
No, no ain't got time to waste my hate on Bob
Yea, I think I'm gonna keep it all for myself
Hate (Bob).

Special thanks to Metallica and...Bob.

getting stepped on is a learning experience

Okay so Bob the boss decides to vent and it shows his true colors. I agreed to take Steph's hours today so she could go ride the bull at the cowboy bar and then i come home and find out i was supposed to go down on the boat and stay til friday at least. which is fine. the folks bring me home early so i can get to work on time. then i get a phone call (hold the fone!) and i find out they don't need me bc they didn't make enough today to need a second person. the folks are irked bc they didn't have to come home and i probably shouldve received a phone call earlier. i feel bad because this is my dad's vaca. the only week out of the eyar he has to take off. and i ruined it. yes i did. he even told me i did. he was kidding but i do believe he was only half kidding. i can't win.
i bought a book today of short stories to read before bedtime when i can't fall asleep. it actually states that this is its purpose on the front cover. it's written by roald dahl. (the master mind behind charlie and his chocolate factory and james and his giant peach). "omnibus: perfect bedtime stories for sleepless nights". it was either that or grimm's fairy tales and i decided to go along with this one.
newsflash: i'm a loser baby college student who still lives with her parents. they baby me so much, they bring me dinner. (might i add in my own defense that work is two minutes from home? literally. i've clocked it.)
the title is about how my mom said (face to face bc i'm a loser and i live with my parents) i let people walk all over me. and i realized that if people walk all over me, i get to meet all the people they've already stepped on...

he's lookin for that home, and i hope he finds it.

It began with a limp. He would attempt to climb the stairs and I could walk faster than he could jump. Seeing him in such a weakened state was taking its toll on not just me, but the whole family. He had been my best friend since I was 6, and over a thirteen-year period, had faithfully greeted me after school, woke me up when it was time to take care of business, and guarded his domain with an ear that was constantly open.
The change was immediate. We were all the more short-tempered. coming home on weekends to an empty back porch brought on a feeling of emptiness and loss unlike anything else I had ever experienced.
Sometimes I can still see him laying in the shade under my window. I used to leave dropped food on the kitchen floor knowing it would be taken care of. Now there is no fur stuck on the bushes in the backyard. No noises in the middle of the night as he would find a new resting position. Most importantly, no sign of him coming back and rescuing me from a newfound crevasse in my emotional being.
It would be favorable to report a new beginning. However sad it may be, this is not the case. Fresh starts are happening all around me, and the best I can drum up is a bout of fresh tears, a gut full of loneliness, and eyes tinged green with envy. My only solace to be mustered is that George, my best friend and most lovable pet, no longer suffers through long, hot summers, arthritic hind legs, and taunts of neighborhood cats.

tell me what you think.
